Dr. Dvir Yelin has been
awarded the ERC generous grant from the European Commission for his research
on "Multiphoton Ionization Nano-Therapy", within the Implementation of the
"IDEAS" programme of the EC.

Shulamit Levenberg has been awarded a
prestigious
"The
Excellences for Israel"
prize. The ceremony will take place in Rome, Italy as a part of 60
years of Israel celebrations.
July 2008: Open Day to discuss interactions between the BME Companies and the Technion BME Faculty and Curriculum. This year's open day is also under the auspices of the Neaman Institute and the BioNorth Center . Like in the past 3 years, this open day will also provide a platform for recruitment of our young graduates in the job market. The open day will take place in the Butler Auditorium,on 9 July 2008, 13:00 -18:00.
April 2008: Dr. Shy Shoham has been awarded a generous grant from the European Commission for his research on "Patterned optical activation of retinal ganglion cells", within the Implementation of the "ideas" programme of the EC.
March 2008: Dr. Shulamit Levenberg wins an Award for Academic Excellence
It is my great pleasure to announce that Dr. Shulamit Levenberg will be receiving the Award for Academic Excellence from the France-Israel Foundation Award for Academic Excellence. The award will be given to Shulamit for her work in the area of Stem Cells in March 2008 in the Palais de L'Elysee, Paris, jointly by the State Presidents of France and Israel. This will be followed by an official ceremony at UNESCO.

Oct 2007: New Faculty joins the BME Faculty,
Dr. Dvir Yelin earlier this October has joined the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, after completing an extended post-doc with the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Yelin's appointment was made possible by a post provided to the BME Department by the Technion Lorry Lokey Interdisciplinary Center for Life Sciences and Engineering, headed by Nobel Laureate Distinguished Professor Aaron Ciechanover.
Dr. Yelin's research interests are in Biomedical optics, Optical imaging, Endoscopy and Microscopy
